Pattom is a busy commercial as well as a residential area, 6 km from Thiruvananthapuram city. It is situated between Plamoodu and Kesavadasapuram on NH 47. Pattom is the birth place of Pattom A. Thanu Pillai, the first Prime Minister of Travancore-Cochin and the second chief minister of Kerala.
