Kowdiar is a posh residential area in Thiruvananthapuram city on the Vellayambalam - Peroorkada route. Kowdiar has direct road connections to Ambalamukku, Sasthamangalam and Nanthancode. The prominent landmark of Kowdiar is the Kowdiar Palace, which was the home of the late Maharaja Sree Chitra Thirunal Balarama Varma and his family. Kowdiar is also home to some of the major public properties in Thiruvananthapuram such as the Trivandrum Tennis Club, Trivandrum Womens Club and Golf Club. Jawahar Nagar is located near Kowdiar.
